Mr. Franck Budde provides assistance in financial-economic and general criminal cases. Before joining De Roos & Pen, Budde worked as a lawyer in De Brauw’s Regulatory & Criminal Enforcement practice. There he advised large corporations on criminal law issues and was involved in internal investigations. Budde also taught criminal procedural law at Leiden University and worked as a criminal defence lawyer at Kuijpers & Nillesen. There, he gained experience with criminal cases related to violence and property crimes as well as with cases involving the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act, the Road Traffic Act, the Extradition Act and the Opium Act, among others.
In 2018, Budde graduated with a degree in criminal law from Leiden University. He also spent a semester studying in Boston at Boston University School of Law. During his studies, he completed internships at various law firms, the court and the Supreme Court. He also taught an introductory course to first-year law students at Leiden University.
Budde has registered criminal law as his main area of practice in the register of legal practice areas of the Netherlands Bar Association. Pursuant to this registration, he is required to obtain ten training credits in that area per calendar year in accordance with the standards of the Dutch Bar Association.
